Annual Report

2024 Leadership Institute

This Institute was supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the State Library of Iowa. Additional sponsors include the Iowa Library Association Foundation, the Iowa Library Association, ILA Association of College & Research Libraries, and ILA Library Leadership & Management Association.

The 2024 Leadership Institute was a grand success. Heather Woody was a dynamic, captivating speaker. You could tell the whole room was listening. Standout sessions were about trust in leadership, difficult conversations, and strategic planning. Her advice was practical, heartfelt, and solution-forward. Many people left wanting more.

Friday afternoon came swiftly. Looking around the room, librarians were still engaged in deep conversations, eager to squeeze every bit of learning they could out of the opportunity. Faces were smiling, brows were furrowed in thought, and some felt two-and-a-half days wasn't nearly enough time to focus on these leadership strategies.

Cheers to the journey!
